Following their official digital distribution and subsequent localisation / home video release of Gatchman Crowds in previous years, North American anime publisher Sentai Filmworks have confirmed that they have now licensed its sequel – Gatchaman Crowds Insight.
This twelve episode series, now airing in Japan, will be available through select digital outlets shortly. A home video release is planned for the future, although this could potentially take a couple of years to be released. The series has once again been animated by Tatsunoko Production, with direction by Kenji Nakamura, series composition by Toshiya Ono, character designs by Yuichi Takahashi (with original designs by Kinako) and music by Kazuhiro Watanabe and Takao Kondo.
Synopsis for Gatchman Crowds Insight
Picking up where the hitGatchaman Crowds left off, Gatchaman Crowds insight flips the premise of its predecessor to explore the more dangerous side of the same technology. After all, arch villain Berg Katze wasn’t destroyed, so much as he was absorbed, and if globally connected networks of super beings can be used for great good, they can also be used for the purposes of evil. When the Prime Minister is attacked by a mysterious new organization, suspicions flare as to who is ultimately responsible, and who the public can actually trust.
