In what shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who has a gist of the Pokemon usually selected for Mega Evolved forms, The Pokemon Company International have confirmed that Rayquaza, the third Legendary Pokemon of the Hoenn region, will be able to Mega Evolve into Mega Rayquaza.
This evolved form of the already formidable Rayquaza will provide it with a new ‘Delta Stream’ ability. When active, this move renders area effects such as Rain Dance, Sunny Day, Sandstorm and Hail useless in the face of Rayquaza’s strong winds while abilities like Drizzle, Drought, Sand Stream and Snow Warning will not even activate. In addition, moves of a type to which Flying-type Pokémon are usually susceptible will only deal normal damage.
This new form will be acquirable in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, set to launch on the Nintendo 3DS worldwide from November 21st, 2014.
