Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has launched worldwide. This year’s entry brings a story Campaign set against conflict on the Korean Peninsula, a Multiplayer suite with 20 maps at launch, and the return of the DMZ extraction mode.
The Campaign finds Price on the run as conflict breaks out on the Korean Peninsula, with a catastrophic weapon of war close to falling into the wrong hands.
Multiplayer launches with 20 maps: 12 new 6v6 maps, four Gunfight maps, three Ground War maps, Kill Block, and a new modular training facility. The combat is designed to feel grounded and precise, with a focus on fluid movement, player choice and more control in each engagement.
In DMZ, players take on the role of an off-the-books asset operating behind enemy lines. Each deployment into contested territory asks players to decide which objectives to chase, what to secure and when to extract.
For those after extra content, the Vault Edition bundles the Digital Edition with a range of cosmetic and gameplay extras, some available only through this edition. It includes the Hunter Killer Operator Skin and the Hostile Alliance Operator Pack, which adds Operator Skins for Price, Valeria, Ghost, and Blix. The Special Forces Operator Pack adds Operator Skins representing the United Kingdom, Germany, France and South Korea, each with a voice pack in its local language.
The Vault Edition also includes the Signature Weapon Collection, made up of five Signature weapon Blueprints. Each comes with multiple Attachments, including an Apex Attachment:
- “Voltspine” Kastov 762 Assault Rifle Blueprint
- “La Sombra Venenosa” (“The Poisonous Shadow”) ISO Nightshade SMG Blueprint
- “Shattered Code” Rezi 12 Shotgun Blueprint
- “Volt-Edge” Oris 8.6 Marksman Rifle Blueprint
- “Sombra Besada” (“Shadow’s Kiss”) Combat Knife Blueprint
Rounding out the package is one season of BlackCell, which includes BlackCell content, the current Battle Pass, up to 20 Tier Skips, and a DMZ Deployment Bonus to give players a head start in extraction mode.
Players who pre-ordered the Digital Standard Edition can upgrade to the Vault Edition later, as long as they do so on the same platform as the original purchase.
