Some of history’s best-known figures are checking into a hotel, and keeping things running smoothly comes down to rhythm. SyncArc-Studio and Infini Fun have released a free demo for Rhythm Hotel, a rhythm game in the style of Rhythm Heaven, as part of Steam Next Fest, which runs from 19 to 26 October.
The demo includes five levels, each with its own style and approach to the rhythm challenge. In the full game, every famous guest arrives with their own absurd plans, and each stay quickly descends into a comedy of errors. The guests come from across history and around the world, each with a comedic story and a signature rhythm skill.
Rhythm Hotel is designed to be easy to pick up. Every level is played with just one button, and the developers say the game avoids steep difficulty in favour of simple controls and catchy tracks. That said, no two levels play the same, with new mechanics stacking up over time to test timing, memory and precision. The soundtrack covers a wide range of styles, including EDM, retro disco and pop, along with plenty of offbeat sound effects.
The full game will include more than 20 rhythm levels, each with its own story, and will support English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Italian, French, German, Spanish, Russian and Korean. Rhythm Hotel is coming to PC and Nintendo Switch later this year.
