The situation in QUIET, LINE Games’ online co-operative horror comedy for one to four players, which will launch its first demo on Steam and the Epic Games Store on 22 October, involves a group of alien ducks who have become stranded, a house that contains the parts they need and a homeowner who can hear everything.
The demo follows a first playtest. Using their feedback, the team fixed major bugs, optimised the game for more stable performance, and added features players asked for.
In QUIET, players take on the role of a group of alien ducks who have ended up on Earth and are looking for the parts they need to repair their spaceship in a nearby house. The problem is that the house belongs to a monster that can pick up every sound the players make; footsteps, dropped objects, and even their voices will warn it, and it uses a microphone to do so. Up to four players cooperate to locate the parts and get out, but a single noisy mistake could put the entire flock in danger.
The demo also includes new content: a four-player Arcade Stage named Duck Out, a spaceship-themed waiting room designed in response to player feedback, and some special Halloween content.
QUIET will be included in The MIX Fall Showcase and will take part in Screamfest, the event running from 26 October to 2 November. The demo will launch on Steam and the Epic Games Store on 22 October, and wishlisting is currently available on Steam.
