SEGA has confirmed that Bayonetta will be the first free character added to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds as part of the game’s Year Two content, sharing the news through a new video trailer released in the lead up to Tokyo Game Show.
The trailer shows the Umbra Witch bringing her own kart to the roster, named the Butterfly Witch machine, along with character specific emotes and sounds. In full, the new Bayonetta content includes:
- Bayonetta as a playable character
- The Butterfly Witch machine
- Special emotes and sounds
The same trailer also featured further gameplay footage from the Godzilla and Evangelion Packs, the first two DLC packs for Year Two. SEGA has said that additional details on Year Two content for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will be revealed during the World Championship Finals and Year Two Showcase livestream, set for Friday, 9 October 2026.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is currently available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
