Ubisoft has shared the first look at the inaugural gameplay expansion for Anno 117: Pax Romana, titled Prophecies of Ash, through a new gameplay trailer. The expansion is scheduled for release on 23 April 2026 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Developed by Ubisoft Mainz, this update introduces a variety of new mechanics and locations to the Roman era city builder. The most significant addition is Cinis, which stands as the largest island ever featured in the Anno series. This landmass includes a dormant volcano that introduces a layer of environmental risk, as it has the potential to erupt during gameplay.
Beyond the new geographical challenges, Prophecies of Ash adds a new deity for players to worship, a trade resource known as obsidian, and a new trading character named Ceacilia. These elements are designed to provide more variety in how players manage their resources and govern their expanding empire.
Players can acquire Prophecies of Ash as a standalone purchase or as part of the base game’s Year 1 Pass.
