Cooking Simulator 2: Better Together Gameplay Trailer Reveals Co-Op Mechanics and More

The team at Big Cheese Studio have released a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming sequel, Cooking Simulator 2: Better Together. The footage provides a new look at the new title, which is currently in development for PC via Steam and is scheduled for release on 31 March 2026.

A primary focus of the sequel is the integration of online co-operative multiplayer, a first for the franchise. This mode allows users to run a professional kitchen as a team, coordinating tasks such as food preparation, plating, and order management. With its predecessor gaining quite a bit of traction from game streamers, its a safe assumption that we will see this system put through its paces quickly post-launch. The developers have designed the system to allow for role specialization, enabling players to divide responsibilities or improvise during high-pressure service periods. While the co-op mechanics are a central design pillar intended to create dynamic scenarios, the game remains fully playable as a solo experience.

Mechanically, the game expands upon the original, offering players over 200 ingredients and a completely reworked skill and perk progression system. A key feature is the new Blueprint System. This tool allows players to follow standard recipes or create original dishes from scratch by experimenting with different ingredient combinations and cooking techniques. These custom creations can then be added to the restaurant’s menu for customers to order. Additionally, the game aims to utilise enhanced visual feedback inspired by real-world sensory cues to help players judge cooking progress.

Beyond the culinary aspects, Cooking Simulator 2: Better Together incorporates restaurant management elements. Players must handle inventory, ensure stations are prepped, and maintain cleanliness. The game also promotes expanded guest AI, where customer reactions are influenced by factors such as presentation quality and service speed.

As players progress, they can earn mastery seals through the “Concorde Culinaire” and unlock advanced abilities. The game also introduces character customization, allowing players to alter their chef’s appearance with various outfits and tattoos. Between shifts, players can access a personal apartment space to relax or experiment with mechanics freely.
