Skybound Entertainment and their internal development studio, Quarter Up, have announced the official release date for Invincible VS. The 3v3 tag fighting game is scheduled to launch on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on 30 April 2026.
Based on the comic book series by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, Invincible VS is the first major video game adaptation set within the Invincible universe. The title aims to feature visceral combat and “bone-breaking combos” in a tournament-style format. Furthermore, the development team are striving to be authentic towards the original source material, including the incorporation of locations and characters.
Alongside the release date announcement, Quarter Up revealed a brand-new character named Ella Mental. This character is debuting exclusively in Invincible VS and was designed by original co-creators Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker. Lore-wise, she is a studious heiress who inherits an ancient totem from her grandfather, granting her elemental powers over earth, wind, fire, and water. Rapper Tierra Whack has been cast as the voice of Ella Mental and shared her thoughts on portraying the new hero.
When I was reading the role for Ella Mental, it just felt like I was reading about myself; it felt divine. We’re so alike. She’s powerful, she’s strong and she knows what she wants. She’s a trailblazer, and as an Invincible fan, I’m so excited to get to voice her.
Upon release, the game will feature a roster of 18 playable characters. Ella Mental joins a lineup of established figures from the franchise, including Mark Grayson (Invincible), Omni-Man, Atom Eve, Rex Splode, Robot, Monster Girl, Thula, Bulletproof, Battle Beast, and Cecil Stedman.
Mike Willette, Executive Producer of Invincible VS, commented on the size of the roster and the collaborative effort required to introduce a new character to the canon.
As huge fans of the franchise, it brings me tremendous joy to share that Invincible VS will be in players’ hands soon, featuring a badass roster of 18 fighters. It’s been an incredible journey and has taken a lot of hard work to get to this moment. Robert, Cory and the team worked closely to bring Ella Mental to life, ensuring she felt authentic to both the game and the larger Invincible universe. Seeing her evolve through Tierra’s performance was truly special. She has infused the character with such personality and energy that we cannot wait for players to experience her at launch.
