Plied and Prejudice Extends Perth Season Through 28 September Following Sell-Out Weeks

Date:

Perth audiences are clearly ready to get plied. It has today been confirmed that Plied and Prejudice, the immersive theatrical experience that blends Austen with absurdity and alcohol, has sold out its first two weeks Downstairs at The Maj, His Majesty’s Theatre. In response to overwhelming demand, the show’s run has been extended until 28 September 2025.

Each performance features one cast member randomly declared “indisposed,” making every night a one-of-a-kind, chaotic retelling of Pride and Prejudice. According to producer Alex Woodward of Woodward Productions:

In other markets we had guests coming multiple times throughout the season excited to see a completely different interpretation each time. We’ve seen lots of people coming two or three times, often with different groups of friends – I think the record was 7 times from a couple in Brisbane!

Helen Stewart, Manager at His Majesty’s Theatre, also shared:

This is a unique experience for Perth and a thrilling moment for us at His Majesty’s Theatre! Our underground Bar 825 will be serving up grab-n-go goodies and refreshing drinks to patrons — including prosecco & champagne to add a little fizz to the festivities.

With the original VIP “Lady Catherine De Bourgh’s Honoured Guests” tickets quickly snapped up, new allocations have been added along with more budget-friendly “Pauper” tickets starting at just $30. Ticket tiers range from high-society luxury to rowdy rear-of-house revelry:

  • Lady Catherine De Bourgh’s Honoured Guests – from $110 (includes prosecco and premium seating)
  • Aristocrats – from $70 (front-row views and posh vibes)
  • Middle Class – from $60 (centrally seated, morally stable)
  • Paupers – from $30 (back row, high stools, questionable choices)

Tickets for the new performances of Plied and Prejudice are now on-sale via the His Majesty’s Theatre website.
