SEGA’s Persona 5: The Phantom X global team has announced that the next major update in their newly released free-to-play RPG Persona 5: The Phantom X is set to go live on 24 July 2025. To facilitate this, the game will be undergoing maintenance from 2.00am until 7.00am UTC on Thursday. During this time, Persona5: The Phantom X will be unavailable to all players.
Before the update lands, and hopefully providing some comments on the recent drama and community concerns around the game’s global release, SEGA has confirmed they will be hosting a dedicated livestream on 23 July 2025 at 5.00am PDT. The livestream promises special guests, including voice actors and development team members, with fresh details about the upcoming version update.
One known inclusion in this update is the release of Yusuke Kitagawa as a playable character, who goes by the codename Fox, has the persona Goemon and was one of the original Phantom Thieves in the core chronology of Persona 5.
The livestream can be accessed via the game’s official Youtube channel.
