HIDIVE confirmed at Anime Expo 2025 that it has secured exclusive streaming rights for Season 2 of Reincarnated as a Sword, the isekai series adapted from Yuu Tanaka’s light novels and manga. The new season will join the platform’s Fall 2026 simulcast slate, with NBC Universal revealing the sequel’s teaser visual and updated logo during its industry panel.
Originally debuting in late 2022, Reincarnated as a Sword follows a sentient sword reincarnated from another life who joins forces with Fran, a young runaway escaping would-be slavers. Together the unlikely duo travels the land, liberating the oppressed and dealing justice to villains.
Season 2 will again be produced by studio C2C with Shinji Ishihira returning to direct and Takahiro Nagano handling series composition. The anime continues to draw from Tanaka’s GC Novels light novels illustrated by Ruroo and the manga adaptation by Tomowo Maruyama, both published in English by Seven Seas Entertainment.
Additional casting, staff details and a specific premiere date will be announced closer to the 2026 launch.
