The upcoming second season of the anime Dan Da Dan will feature a new ending theme titled Doukashiteru, performed by solo artist WurtS. This announcement was made alongside the release of the anime’s new “Friendship & Love” trailer, which features the song. The trailer is now available to watch (to the left).
Dan Da Dan, based on the manga by Yukinobu Tatsu, is currently being serialised in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ app, with new chapters released every Tuesday. With more than 10 million copies in circulation, the manga follows high school student Momo Ayase, a girl from a family of spirit mediums, and her occult-obsessed classmate Okarun Takakura. Together, they face off against bizarre supernatural threats in a series that blends sci-fi, ghost stories, and youthful drama.
The second season of Dan Da Dan follows the anime’s first season, which aired from October to December 2024. An exact premiere date has not yet been confirmed.
WurtS, who debuted in 2021 and is known for self-producing his music and visuals, brings a genre-spanning sound to the project – fusing elements of rock, hip-hop, soul, and dance pop. Commenting on his involvement in the anime’s second season, he shared his enthusiasm for both the series and the creative opportunity:
I’m WurtS, and I’m performing the ending theme for the Dan Da Dan anime. As a huge fan of both the manga and the anime, I’m truly honoured to be part of this project. In this crazy world where various life forms suddenly appear, I wanted to capture the characters’ complicated feelings—awkward but full of longing. We’ve packed all that excitement and heart-throbbing emotion into this wonderful song. Thank you so much, and I hope you enjoy it.
