Koei Tecmo Games and developer GUST have confirmed that Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian will launch on 26 September 2025 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC via Steam. To mark the announcement, a first look trailer featuring commentary from the developers has been released, giving players a glimpse of the upcoming adventure, its new cast, and returning series favourites.
Set in the universe established by Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator, the new title introduces players to the continent of Lantarna. The story follows Rias Eidreise, an alchemist and adventurer, and Slade Clauslyter, who has the ability to open dimensional paths. Together, they embark on a quest to uncover the mystery behind the disappearance of Hallfein’s inhabitants, hoping to restore their hometown and trace the footsteps of loved ones. Along the way, they will encounter allies old and new, including series veterans such as Sophie Nuenmuller, Razeluxe Meitzen, Totori Helmold, and Wilbell Voll-Ersleid.
Players will be able to explore Lantarna’s landscapes, gather ingredients for synthesis, and delve into multi-level dungeons known as “Dimensional Paths”. These dungeons will change structure with each visit, offering varied challenges and opportunities to collect new items and battle different enemies depending on the selected difficulty.
Combat in Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian is set to offer a blend of strategic, turn-based battles. Players can assemble a team of up to six characters – three active on the front line and three in reserve. Through the use of action points and equipped items, teams can influence the battle timeline, trigger consecutive turns, and unleash powerful unite attacks.
The synthesis system, “Gift Color Synthesis”, will require players to combine ingredients in specific ways to craft new items, assign traits, and modify recipes. Assistance from other characters during synthesis can enhance the resulting items further.
In addition to exploration and combat, the game will allow players to manage Rias’ shop, selling synthesised goods to develop the town of Hallfein. Proceeds from sales can be reinvested to unlock new recipes and advance the story.
Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian is designed as a fully offline experience, with no internet connection required. Furthermore, the game will be available with Japanese voice acting and English text only.
