During this year’s MCM Comic Con in London, Yen Press revealed the upcoming audiobook releases of two of its popular light novel titles: I’ve Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in the Real World, Too by Miku, and If the Villainess and Villain Met and Fell in Love by Harunadon. The adaptations are being produced under the publisher’s Yen Audio imprint and are set to debut in October 2025.
I’ve Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in the Real World, Too follows the story of a boy tormented by bullying who stumbles upon a portal to a magical world. There, he discovers treasure, monsters, and magic—but more importantly, a chance to reclaim his self-worth. As he shuttles between worlds, empowered by what he finds on the other side, his double life begins to transform him both inside and out.
Meanwhile, If the Villainess and Villain Met and Fell in Love offers a softer, romantic take on the fantasy genre. After a humiliating public breakup with the prince, noblewoman Brigitte Meidell becomes a pariah—until she finds an unlikely ally in the icy, feared duke’s son, Yuri. Their unexpected connection may be just what both need to rewrite their fates at the magic academy.
These audiobook editions aim to bring the stories to new audiences while giving existing fans another way to engage with their favourite characters. Whom will be narrating these audio books have yet to be confirmed, with that information expected to be announced in the coming months.
