Nintendo has announced Kirby Air Riders, a new title inspired by the 2003 GameCube classic Kirby Air Ride. The game is scheduled to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025.
Directed by Masahiro Sakurai, known for his work on the Super Smash Bros. series and the original Kirby Air Ride, the title brings back fast-paced racing action with a Kirby twist. The debut trailer featured Kirby launching into action on his Warp Star, joined by other characters riding a variety of distinct air machines across colourful and dynamic racetracks.
Kirby Air Riders aims to modernise the original’s blend of accessibility and competitive depth, introducing new mechanics while retaining the charm and high-speed gameplay fans remember. Additional details on modes, multiplayer features, and content are expected in the coming months.
