Dig the Hole, Hole Digger: A Game About Digging A Hole Unearths Its Way Onto Steam

Indie label rokaplay Bou·tique has released A Game About Digging A Hole on PC via Steam. Developed by a solo artist from Cyberwave, the game sees players digging deep into their newly purchased house, unearthing resources, upgrading their tools, and gradually uncovering a hidden mystery beneath the surface—all at their own pace, with no rules or time pressure.

The project began as an experiment in terraforming and digging mechanics but evolved into a standalone 3D digging minigame. By incorporating randomly spawning ores and shovel upgrades, the game was developed in just 14 days during the developer’s vacation, making use of licensed assets to streamline production.

The game is available now on Steam for £3.99 / €4.99 / $4.99.
