Publisher Eastasiasoft has announced that Starlight Legacy, a retro pixel art JRPG developed by Decafesoft, will be released on Steam on 6 February 2025. Ahead of its launch, a new gameplay trailer has been released to offer a closer look at the game’s features.
Drawing inspiration from the 16-bit era of gaming, Starlight Legacy aims to blend nostalgic visuals with modern gameplay mechanics and widescreen presentation. The game follows three protagonists drawn into a catastrophic conflict, challenging players to explore a seamless open kingdom, gather artifacts to restore the Eternity Tree, and traverse four distinct provinces in any order.
Players can enhance their party’s stats, interact with townspeople, battle monsters, uncover hidden secrets, and engage in 3D flight sequences as they navigate the game’s expansive map. The game’s developers aim to capture the essence of classic JRPGs while incorporating updates for a contemporary audience.
The game will be priced at USD $16.99 on Steam, with a 10% discount available during its launch week. Players will soon be able to add Starlight Legacy to their wishlists.
About Starlight Legacy
In Starlight Legacy, the four provinces of the Evaria Kingdom have lived in peace and prosperity for decades, thanks to the Eternity Tree that enriches and purifies the soil, water, and air of the entire kingdom. But a ban on the education of magic has caused unrest, leading to the rise of a separatist movement to liberate the Sky Province from Evaria. The warriors Ignus and Teryl embark on a quest to deliver a sword requested by the king, but shortly after they embark, a devastating attack causes the Eternity Tree to whither. Ignus and Teryl now face the task of restoring the Eternity Tree to save the kingdom. And so begins a great journey through a seamlessly interconnected fantasy world!
