Zenless Zone Zero Receives Version 1.4 Update Before Christmas

HoYoverse has announced that Version 1.4 of Zenless Zone Zero, dubbed A Storm of Falling Stars, will release on 18 December 2024 across all supported platforms, including the PC, PlayStation 5, iOS and Android. This major update introduces significant changes to the game, including an overhaul of the Main Story stages, new areas to explore, and the addition of two additional playable characters in the game’s banners: Hoshimi Miyabi and Asaba Harumasa. This update will also see updated support for the PlayStation 5 Pro, including enhanced performance and ray-tracing support.

For those following the main story, The narrative advances to its climax in Chapter 5, revealing hidden truths about New Eridu’s conspiracy, the backstories of characters like Wise and Belle, and the election of new leadership for New Eridu Public Security. Proxies will collaborate with Section 6 to unravel mysteries in Port Elpis and confront formidable foes in the Reverb Arena.

The update also features redesigned Main Story stages for the Prologue through Chapter 3, shifting from a TV mode format to immersive combat and exploration stages. Players, can also enjoy a newly introduced Quality Time Mode, allowing them to stroll through New Eridu with their Agents. Gameplay improvements include decoupling shared Decibel resources across squads, enabling players to unleash stunning Ultimates consecutively. A Quick Sweep feature for Shiyu Defense challenges and optimizations for progression and upgrades have also been added.

New combat gameplay modes debut in Version 1.4, including Shadows Lost in Hollow Zero and Deadly Assault, a periodic operation. Enhancements such as new equipment, Bangboo Assist skills, and Resonia are introduced.

In terms of playable characters, S-Rank Agents Hoshimi Miyabi and Asaba Harumasa join the roster in this update. Miyabi, the youngest Void Hunter, wields the Ethereal-Slaying Katana and specializes in Frost Anomaly attacks, delivering graceful yet devastating damage. Harumasa, an Electric Agent, seamlessly switches between bow and blade to mark targets and execute precision strikes. Similar to what HoYoverse did in Honkai: Star Rail last year, players can unlock one copy of Harumasa for free after reaching Inter-Knot Lv. 8.

Zenless Zone Zero is an urban fantasy ARPG set in New Eridu, the last surviving metropolis after the calamity known as “Hollows”. Players assume the role of Proxies, embarking on adventures to explore the Hollows, uncover mysteries, and combat enemies. Players can download the game now for PC, PlayStation 5, iOS and Android platforms.
