Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment have commenced ticket sales for the upcoming theatrical release of Bocchi the Rock! Recap Part 1 & 2 in the United States and Canada. The two-part film, based on the anime series Bocchi the Rock!, will be available in cinemas from 6 October 2024 for a limited time.
The compilation film is created by Aki Hamazi, directed by Keiichiro Sait, with a screenplay by Erika Yoshida. Bocchi the Rock! Recap Part 1 will run for 89 minutes, while Part 2 will last 76 minutes, resulting in a total runtime of 165 minutes total. Produced by Cloverworks, the film features voice acting from Ikumi Hasegawa as Ikuyo Kita, Saku Mizuno as Ryo Yamada, Sayumi Suzushiro as Nijika Ijichi, and Yoshino Aoyama as Hitori “Bocchi-chan” Gotoh. Hiroyuki Kobayashi and Tatsuya Ishikawa serve as the film’s producers.

Bocchi the Rock! follows Hitori Gotoh, a shy and socially anxious middle schooler who finds solace in her guitar. Despite her musical talent, she struggles to connect with others and continues to live in isolation until she meets Nijika Ijichi, a drummer for Kessoku Band. Nijika encourages Hitori to face her fears, helping her start a journey of self-discovery and personal growth through music. The coming-of-age film blends comedy with themes of overcoming social anxiety and finding one’s place in the world.
