OperaHouse Corporation together with PQube are teaming up to bring ICHU: Chibi Edition* to the west, releasing exclusively on Nintendo Switch on 3 October 2024. This special remake of the Japanese release follows the main storyline and rhythm-action gameplay of ICHU*, although omits the romantic side stories.
Players will follow the journey of 32 aspiring idols across nine different groups as they work towards their debut. Featuring visual novel elements, rhythm-action mechanics, and a gacha system with no microtransactions, ICHU: Chibi Edition* sets out to deliver an experience which is a fusion of storytelling and music performance gameplay. As a teacher and producer, players will guide the boys through their idol training at the Etoile Vie School, helping them achieve stardom.
The game includes over 80 original songs performed by Japanese voice actors and allows players to enjoy rhythm gameplay using either touch controls or the Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons. As with other Japanese rhythm games, there is a decent variety of difficulty options from ‘Normal’ to ‘Nightmare’, providing accessible experiences that allow you to progress further as you become familiar with the game.
