Kadokawa has this weekend shared their latest trailer for OVERLORD: The Sacred Kingdom, the third film in the wider OVERLORD anime franchise which as of 2022, spanned four seasons running between 2015 and 2022. You can watch the full trailer, which outlines the setting for the film, below:
Under the leadership of Sacred Queen Calca, the Roebel Sacred Kingdom enjoyed an era of peace, protected behind their great walls. However, that peace was easily destroyed by the sudden appearance of the Demon Emperor Jaldabaoth and the attack of the Demi-Human Alliance. Though the grandmaster of Roebel Sacred Kingdom’s Sacred Paladin Order, Remedios, and the high priestess, Kelart, gathered their forces to retaliate, they could not overcome the overwhelming difference in Jaldabaoth’s power, and their kingdom is now on the verge of collapse. Remedios travels with her order and her subordinate, Neia, to a certain kingdom in hopes of gaining power to counter Jaldabaoth. The name of that kingdom is Sorcerer Kingdom Ains Ooal Gown. It is a grotesque nation ruled by an undead and despised by those of the Sacred Kingdom—
In addition to releasing the trailer, Kadokawa shared key artwork, descriptions and voice actor comments for four new characters being introduced in the film – Neia, Remedios, Calca, and Kelart.
Neia Baraja (VA: Yoshino Aoyama)
She is a squire of the Sacred Kingdom’s Sacred Paladin Order. She longs to be a paladin like her mother, but she lacks the talent with a sword and is treated harshly by Remedios. On the other hand, she has inherited her father’s excellent talent as a bowman and is assigned as a scout in the Liberation Army. She has a complex about her eyesight, which she also inherited from her father.
I am Yoshino Aoyama, the voice of Neia Baraja. I am very honored to join the long-loved “OVERLORD” series. When I was informed that I had been chosen for the role, I didn’t know what part of my audition was Neia-like, so I just stood in front of the microphone with all my heart and soul on the day of the recording. That may have been what brought “Neia Baraja” to life. I hope you witness the path of these women on the powerful screen.
Yoshino Aoyama
Remedios Custodio (VA: Hitomi Nabatame)
She is the grandmaster of the Sacred Kingdom’s Sacred Paladin Order and the most powerful paladin in the country. Along with her sister Kelart, she supports Calca with her absolute loyalty. While her sense of justice frustrates the strong and helps the weak, she is quick to judge and inflexible in her thinking. She also has a strong sense of discrimination against demi-humans and the undead.
My name is Hitomi Nabatame and I will be playing the role of Remedios. I am very honored to be able to participate in the film of “OVERLORD,” a world that was a part of “Isekai Quartet,” that I was also involved in. Please witness Remedios’s way of life. Be sure to check it out on the big screen!

Calca Bessarez (VA: Saori Hayami)
She is the current Sacred King of the Sacred Kingdom and the first queen in its history. She is known as the “Sacred Queen.” Her beauty is considered the treasure of Roebel, and she is supported by her people due to her just and benevolent personality. She also has a natural talent as a magic caster and is one of the best warriors in the Scared Kingdom.
Calca is a kind-hearted, serious, and dignified Sacred Queen. During the voice recording, I was able to feel the passionate atmosphere woven by everyone, which helped me give my all. Please enjoy “OVERLORD: The Sacred Kingdom” on the big screen in the theater!
Saori Hayami
Kelart Custodio (VA: Haruka Tomatsu)
She is the leader of the Sacred Kingdom’s Priesthood and the highest-ranking priest in the country. She is Remedios’s younger sister, but in contrast to her older sister, she is intelligent and calm. Though she worships Calca and supports her as her chief strategist, she is also a spell caster who can cast high-level magic.
I am very happy to be able to appear in this film that is loved by so many people. The character I played is one who is both sincere and strong, so I acted the role with that in mind. The content of the film is quite hardcore, but I hope that many people will see it. Please look forward to the release of the film!
