Among the range of announcements made by Bandai Namco Entertainment today, the publisher announced that work is well underway on Gundam Breaker 4, the next flagship entry in their hack-n-slash looter series. Granting players the ability to craft and customise their own Gunpla before fighting waves of enemies and bosses, the game is set to be released in 2024 on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.
The game is developed by CRAFTS & MEISTER Co Ltd, who has worked with Bandai Namco Entertainment on a number of past titles, including the entire Gundam Breaker series to date.
Gundam Breaker 4 will have players fighting their enemies solo or with up to three friends in coop multiplayer. Bandai Namco Entertainment hope to go back to the roots of the franchise letting players create the Gunpla of their dreams with a large collection of mobile suits and parts to date, as well as a new diorama mode to admire one’s handicraft in.
This is the latest in many games developed around the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise, which celebrates its 45th Anniversary this year. Specifically, this game draws from the series’ merchandising, namely the plastic model kits known as Gunpla.
