Following their release of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty last week, which has proven to be a redemption of sorts for CD Project RED given the base game’s initially chilly reception – the studio has released the game’s Deluxe Edition Soundtrack – comprising of 19 songs, four of which are available for the first time ever. The soundtrack can be listened to in its entirety on a range of music streaming platforms, including but not limited to Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music and Youtube Music.
Of particular note is the release of a dedicated music video for the game’s titular credits track ‘Phantom Liberty’, which was performed by Polish artist Dawid Podsiadło. This follows Podsiadło’s previous collaboration on the credits track for the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. The song was created in collaboration with CD Projekt RED’s senior composer P.T. Adamczyk and music director Marcin Przybyłowicz, and recorded live with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra in Prague.

The music video seeks to blend “live-action footage, CGI, and VFX and further delves into the story of one of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty’s key characters, FIA agent and netrunner Songbird”. The video was a joint creation between creative studio Juice and CD Projekt RED, and was directed by Michał Misiński.
Commenting on Dawid Podsiadło’s involvement in the song’s production, P.T. Adamczyk has the following to share:
Dawid is a one-of-a-kind vocalist. He fully felt the emotions we wanted to express with this track and translated them into words. ‘Phantom Liberty’ is a bittersweet, beautiful yet melancholic song, a sentiment Dawid perfectly conveys with his vocals, which Marcin and I aimed to complement with music full of sounds that are a staple for this genre. It was a lot of hard work from everyone involved in production. The end result is a song that, I hope, pays a worthy tribute to legendary spy films. It’s a fantastic culmination of this journey and of Cyberpunk 2077, but also a truly powerful track that will captivate both gamers and music enthusiasts alike

Working on the titular track for Phantom Liberty was an immense pleasure. As someone who has grown up with video games, I would never have imagined that my musical career would lead me to a point where these two worlds collide. I’m grateful for all of the passionate people at CD PROJEKT RED for making this collaboration possible. From the very beginning, the song was meant to fit into the world of a spy thriller. The collaboration itself was incredibly smooth, REDs responded well to my suggestions and I to theirs, so all it took was meeting, talking, and basking in the fruits of our labor. can’t wait until I can hear the track in the game itself, and that’s still ahead of me. I also hope that this collaboration won’t be our last.
