Focus Entertainment and developer DON’T NOD have confirmed that their upcoming narrative-driven action-RPG, Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, is set to release on 7 November 2023. The game, which promises an emotionally engaging narrative where players combat supernatural entities to change a distressing fate, will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
In Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, players assume the roles of Antea Duarte and Red Mac Raith, who are not just lovers but also Banishers. Banishers are ghost hunters sworn to shield the living from the menace of lingering ghosts and specters. The plot takes a tragic turn when Antea becomes one of the spirits she used to fight against, thrusting the player into a desperate quest to free her from this supernatural affliction
In the shoes of the pair, players will find themselves involved with the community of New Eden, a world infested with paranormal creatures and shrouded in ancient secrets. To overcome the challenges posed by this haunted world, players can employ a blend of Antea’s spiritual abilities and Red’s arsenal to defeat and exorcise the souls haunting the living.
Tying into the “narrative-driven” experience that DON’T NOD is arguably most acclaimed for, players are confronted with critical decisions that significantly influence the fate of New Eden’s inhabitants. These inhabitants include both living people and wandering souls. Players’ choices will dramatically impact the unfolding story and the challenges they encounter.
