A milestone for the typically PC exclusive series. For the first time in the Anno series’ 25 year history, a core game in the franchise will be launching on consoles. Starting 16 March 2023, players on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S will be able to purchase and play Anno 1800 on their television screens.
Developed by the very same studio behind the original PC version of the game, Ubisoft Mainz, the Anno 1800 Console Edition seeks to provide players “the full Anno experience with a completely redesigned User interface and controls, powered by the next generation of consoles”. The Standard Edition (including the base game and what is described as the “biggest game updates”) will be available for $59.95 AUD, and a deluxe version (Standard Edition + three cosmetics packs: the Pedestrian Zone, the Amusements Pack and Vibrant Cities) will be $20 AUD more expensive at $79.95 AUD.
Anno 1800 is a great success story for the studio and the 25-year-old Anno brand. The popularity and the success of the game on PC gave us the opportunity to develop a console version of the game, thanks to the power of the next generation of consoles. Bringing our most successful Anno game on consoles is a real chance for us to let new players discover our award-winning game for the first time and join our amazing community.
