For the last few weeks, a select group of beta testers have been able to experience NVIDIA’s GeForce Now cloud gaming service in Australia and New Zealand. Pentanet, the ISP powering the service in these countries, has today confirmed that the service will be headed out of beta testing and into live service from next week. Furthermore, pricing details have been outlined.
Below is what PentaNet had to say about the ‘Beta Quest’ phase of their launch, where players could participate in activities to unlock additional chances at getting welcomed to the free beta period:
The Beta Quest phase saw Aussie Gamers complete over 250,000 quests. As Beta Play continues to provide invaluable feedback, Pentanet revealed that more than 3 million minutes have been played on GeForce NOW during Beta Play, equalling over 5.7 years in since invitations were first sent mid-September. In that time, over 100,000 cloud gaming sessions have taken place.
At launch on 19 October 2021, players have two membership options: ‘Basic’ and ‘Priority’. With GeForce NOW Powered by Pentanet’s limited-time Founders ‘Priority membership, players will be able to experience RTX-ON enabled gaming and extended play sessions with no delay. In other words, if there is somehow a queue to play GeForce Now, priority members will “always be right at the front” of it.
Basic memberships will be available for a limited time and come with no cost, allowing players to check out a limited version of the service for free to experience some of the power of real-time game streaming. Basic sessions are limited to an hour and do not support RTX features. See them as more of a ‘demo’ than an actual subscription.
With launch imminent, limited ‘Founders Priority’ pricing is available, where users can claim a Priority membership for AU$19.99 per month on a month-to-month subscription or a discounted rate of AU$17.99 per month for a 12-month subscription.
