Joining the growing number of video games impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Bandai Namco Entertainment has confirmed the latest in their line of Sword Art Online titles – Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC – will be delayed across all platforms until 10 July 2020.
The following statement was provided along with this delay announcement:
We have been working hard on SWORD ART ONLINE: ALICIZATION LYCORIS for our fans who are looking forward to the next SWORD ART ONLINE title. Due to the ongoing world events, we have made the difficult decision to move the release date of SWORD ART ONLINE: ALICIZATION LYCORIS to July 10th, 2020. We believe that this is the best way to ensure that our fans are delivered with the best SWORD ART ONLINE: ALICIZATION LYCORIS experience.

Developed by Aquria and originally due for release both in Japan and western markets next month, Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris will adapt the Alicization Arc novels/anime originally penned by long-time SAO writer Reki Kawahara.
