Previously, if you’d have wanted to play the 2015 free-to-play game Pac-Man 256, you would have been limited to downloading it on either iOS and Android devices. To celebrate the iconic game series’ 36th Anniversary, Bandai Namco Entertainment have confirmed that Pac-Man 256 will be headed to home gaming platforms (PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC) digitally starting June 21st. This edition has been developed by Hipster Whale and 3 Sprockets.
The iconic character many are familiar with, Pac-Man, will star in this game. However this is not your ordinary Pac-Man gaming experience. They will be chased by the infamous “256 Glitch”, which was present in the original game. All the while, players will encounter plenty of Pac-Dots, Power Pellets and the ghost ensemble: Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde – as they endure the maze that unfolds before them.
Pac-Man 256 will come with a number of new features exclusive to console versions. Not only will there be social sharing options and ten themes unlocked, but it will be possible to play with up to four friends via the local co-op multiplayer mode. Players will have to work together to eat all Pac-Dots & Power Pellets, outrun the 256 glitch, and overcome the notorious ghost ensemble: Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde.

We have really enjoyed working with BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment and Hipster Whale on PAC-MAN 256 for mobile, and having the opportunity to ship it on the latest generation of consoles and PC is the icing on the cake for us! We can’t wait to see how much fun players have with it.
