MangaGamer has announced that Innocent Grey’s visual novel Cartagra will release in remastered HD on Steam on 25 June 2026. Created by the team behind Kara no Shojo, Cartagra returns with upgraded HD presentation and includes the epilogue “Sacrament”. The release will be available exclusively through Steam.
Set several years after the end of the war in Showa era Japan, Cartagra follows Takashiro Shugo, a retired police officer travelling by train to Zushi. Although he has left the force, Shugo is asked by his former boss, Arishima Kazuma, to investigate the disappearance of a wealthy family’s daughter. At the same time, Arishima is overseeing the Ueno Serial Murder Case.
Shugo’s investigation takes him to the Kozuki residence, where the disappearance occurred. There, he meets Kozuki Kazuna, whose face is identical to that of her twin sister, Kozuki Yura, Shugo’s former lover. Kazuna asks Shugo to find Yura, but their father, Kozuki Keiichiro, offers a far more final response:
My daughter is already dead.
From there, the story unfolds around the town of Ueno, where the missing person case and the serial murders begin to reveal unexpected connections.
Cartagra is a multi-ending visual novel, with branching choices that alter the direction of the story and affect the fate of its characters. As Shugo investigates both the Ueno Serial Murder Case and the Kouzuki Disappearance Case, player decisions will influence how the tragedy develops.
The Steam release will support English and Simplified Chinese text, alongside the original Japanese voice acting. MangaGamer has also confirmed compatibility with Steam Deck and touch screen devices.
