Visual novel publisher MangaGamer has opened pre-orders for the first season of Rose Guns Days. Developed by 07th Expansion, the title is scheduled to launch on 9 April through both the MangaGamer Store and Steam. After major stories which have seen readers immersed in mysteries in a rural Japanese village and an isolated island at sea – will see readers escorted to an alternate history set in the aftermath of World War II.
Following a major natural disaster, Japan is forced into an unconditional surrender to Sino-American allies. The nation is subsequently divided and occupied by the two powers, fundamentally altering the country and leaving the Japanese people as strangers in their own land. Despite these challenges, the populace unites to ensure their survival. The plot also incorporates a 21st century timeline, where an aspiring reporter named Julie Hayashibara secures an interview with the mysterious Jeanne Amakawa to uncover the historical truth of the post-war period.
This release includes several interactive and accessibility features. Players have the option to toggle between English, Chinese, and the original Japanese text. Rose Guns Days also integrates a combat mini-game that requires players to defend against incoming attacks and strike back. This system includes a scoring mechanic, alongside an auto-mode for users who prefer to skip the combat sequences and focus entirely on the story.
Furthermore, the soundtrack features compositions from several musicians who previously worked on the When They Cry series, including Luck Ganriki, dai, and M.Zakky.
