MangaGamer Confirm Three New Visual Novel Acquisitions

-

Western localiser and publisher of visual novels MangaGamer have recently unveiled three new Japanese titles they plan to release in English-speaking markets over the coming months. You can read more about each of them below:

Trinoline

Developer: minori

Nobukazu “nbkz” Sakai was in attendance at Anime Expo last year, announcing minori’s latest project – Trinoline – at the event.

This announcement was only for a Japanese version however, and did not lock in any plans for a version outside of Japan. nbkz did express interest in offering an international version. Fast forward to 2017 and it has been confirmed that Trinoline will be receiving an English localisation, with plans to offer it sometime in 2017.

MangaGamer will offer both an 18+ and all-ages friendly version of Trinoline. Both versions will come with full Japanese voice acting, however, the 18+ version will still include the Japanese mosaic censorship.

MangaGamer Confirm Three New Visual Novel Acquisitions 1One hot, midsummer’s day, Shun Nanami’s sister drowned to death. It’s a memory he will never forget, which has become lodged forevermore in his heart. He decides from then on to live in her stead, to make up for the life she never got to lead.

Time passes, his agonizing childhood behind him, and he currently spends his days attending school like always. Then, another sultry summer comes around, reminding him ever-so-slightly of his sister once again…

Just then, he hears a piano’s melody far off in the distance–a tune she always adored. He follows this music to its source, only to find his sister standing there.

“Please take care of me from now on, Onii-chan.”

His little sister passed away long ago, but now, an android who looks exactly like her has appeared before him, “TRINO.”

Jinbocho, Tokyo. June 1922, Taisho Era. The Rainy Season.

Tamamori came to Tokyo with his sights set on getting accepted to the Imperial University. However, he doesn’t pass the entrance exam, and is so undisciplined and wrapped up in endless fantasies that he’s kicked out of his boarding house after only two years. Through a stroke of luck, Tamamori begins to live and work at Umebachido, a used book store. There, he enjoys whiling away his time as a “student preparing for entrance exams” and taking advantage of friends who are also from his hometown. But one right after the other, mysterious deaths befall those friends and, realizing he’s been repeating the same rainy three days over and over again, Tamamori finds himself racing throughout Jinbocho to save them.
