No stranger to spin-off titles and additional instalments, 5pb have announced that a sequel to Steins;Gate dubbed Steins;Gate 0 is currently in development. Serving as a new instalment in their Science Adventure franchise which also includes Chaos;Head, Robotics;Notes and Chaos; Child; this will be a fully fledged sequel to the previous game.
Taking place in the β attractor field, the story follows Rintaro Okabe after he was able to save “her”. This is a completely unique storyline which will not simply be an alternate retelling of events from the original visual novel, and will see all the characters receive new character portraits and attire as evidenced from the trailer above.
Chiyomaru Shikura will be in charge of planning Steins;Gate 0, with Tatsuya Matsubara serving as producer, character designs by huke and music composition by Take Abo. Although details are vague, an anime adaptation is already in the works – with no air date currently announced.
Steins;Gate 0 has been confirmed for release in Japan at an undisclosed date, with supported consoles also unconfirmed.
