Following the complete revamp of the Aurora ship line a few months back, it is clear that Cloud Imperium Games are revisiting their classic ships in Star Citizen and – while perhaps not fully replacing them with new variants – are at least giving players the opportunity to purchase versions which are up to the design quality of their newest offerings. Combining elements of heavy weaponry, cargo storage and an onboard snub fighter, the RSI Constellation Mk V Centaurus is now available to purchase and fly in-game.
With a newly designed habitation zone and other areas completely rejigged, the ship retains the Constellation’s medium-sized form factor (albeit with a generally beefier build), but offers much more of a “wow” factor when you step aboard. It appears to align with the Andromeda Mk IV variant, though it remains unclear whether similar updates will eventually be offered for the Aquila, Phoenix and Taurus Mk IV variants.
However, the RSI Constellation Mk V Centaurus comes at a higher price: $300 USD as a standalone purchase or $275 USD with Warbond pricing – with the looming caveat that you will almost certainly be able to acquire the ship in-game through standard gameplay.
