Opening booster packs is the whole point of Rip It! Card Collector, an incremental card-collecting game from Cybernetic Walrus. The game launches on Steam on 30 October 2026, and a free demo is also available to play now via Steam.
Players start by tearing open packs by hand, searching for common, rare and mythic cards to slot into their binder. The full game contains more than 1,800 cards, ranging from standard pulls through to expensive cards, secret promos and particularly rare finds. Some cards also come in alternate finishes such as foil and gold.
With that many cards to work through, the gameplay is not about just rippiing individual packs, but shifting your approach towards automation as it progresses. Duplicate cards can be sold, and the money reinvested into new equipment for a retro-futuristic pack-opening workstation called the Rip Rig. Upgrades gradually turn a simple desk into an elaborate card-processing machine, built to handle pack opening as an efficient production line.
Cybernetic Walrus claim to be putting a focus on making these interactions feel physical. Players flick switches, pull levers and feed packs into the machine before the cards spill out, then sort, stack and file them away in their collection.
The free demo includes 369 cards across multiple finishes, including foil and gold, along with an early look at upgrading the pack-opening setup.
