Director Kenei Nakasha thanked players for waiting and reflected on the year since the game first entered Early Access:
Thank you all for your patience! It’s been about a year since the Early Access version was released, and we’re finally able to bring the official version of ‘Ratatan’ to you all! Although there were many ups and downs during development, it was thanks to the support of our fans that the entire team was able to push through to the very end. Faced with the threat of the Dark Ratatan, how will the ‘Ratatan’ story conclude? Be sure to find out for yourselves!
Producer Kazuto Sakajiri thanked the game’s Kickstarter backers and Early Access players, and spoke about how Ratatan stands as its own project:
I’d like to express my sincere gratitude to the players who backed us on Kickstarter, as well as to the friends who have supported us right from the Early Access stage. It is thanks to your support that we’ve been able to reach this day of official release. We’ve crafted Ratatan as a brand-new title featuring a unique world, characters, and gameplay. Whether you’re a fan of ‘Patapon’ or discovering this game for the first time, we hope you’ll approach it with the excitement of encountering something new and experience the unique fun that Ratatan has to offer. We still have so much we want to achieve, and we’d be grateful for your continued support as we continue to nurture the Ratatan IP!
Game designer Hiroyuki Kotani described the emotion of finally finishing the game after a demanding development:
I never imagined that completing a game would be such a dramatic process! I am truly overjoyed to be able to deliver this finished product to all of you who have been eagerly awaiting its release! We’ve really been through a lot during this time. Seeing both the creators and the players experience the most wonderful moments of reward brings a flood of emotions to my heart; I am so grateful to everyone.
Character designer Nelnal shared their excitement at celebrating the release with fans and the team:
It’s a great honor to celebrate the release of the official version of ‘Ratatan’ alongside our fans and the entire development team! I hope you’ll all enjoy the unique and wondrous world of ‘Ratatan’ to the fullest. I look forward to your feedback.
Composer Kemmei Adachi explained the idea that shaped the game’s music:
My musical composition was inspired by the keyword ‘Ratatan’. In short, I set out with the intention of ‘creating music that would allow everyone playing to journey together in a happy mood’, and I poured my heart and soul into transporting you all into the world of Ratatan. I hope you can feel this dedication at every level! Welcome to the Ratatan theme park, let’s sing, dance and enjoy ourselves to the fullest extent.
