Following the game’s original releases on PC and Nintendo Switch, Team17 and developer Beehive Studios have confirmed that their creature collecting RPG LumenTale: Memories of Trey will make its way to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S later in 2026. LumenTale: Memories of Trey seeks to combine creature collecting and turn based battles with exploration, crafting and customisation.
The story follows Trey, who awakens in the world of Talea without his memories and begins searching for answers about his past. During his journey, he encounters creatures known as Animon, which are infused with an energy called Anivis that can influence the emotions and souls of Talea’s inhabitants.
More than 140 types of Animon can be discovered and captured, with each possessing its own abilities, elemental affinities and one of five emotional attributes. Battles are turn based and span both PvE and PvP encounters, ranging from one on one fights through to four on four battles.
Away from exploring Talea, players can visit the Anispace, an alternate realm where collected Animon can be trained. The area also provides home customisation features, with players able to craft or purchase furniture and create spaces for their creatures. Spending time with Animon in the Anispace can strengthen their bond with Trey and improve their effectiveness during combat.
Exploration takes players across multiple regions of Talea containing quests and secrets, while fountains found throughout the world provide opportunities to prepare food using collected recipes and craft resources for the journey. Players can also obtain unique Art Cards that influence their chances of encountering particular Animon, including rare Lost variants. Cards can be traded either locally or online through the Animon Trade Station.
