EA Sports FC 27 Reveals Class Of 27 ICONs

EA have revealed the most recent group of football legends to be joining EA SPORTS FC 27 as ICONs, including Sergio Agüero, Christine Sinclair, Pepe and a number of other former players who have been added to the newly announced Class of ’27.

The group includes players from various generations and has been put together based on key performances and achievements in their individual careers. Lúcio and Yaya Touré will be given ICON status, just as has already happened with their previous appearance in EA SPORTS FC as Heroes.

Pepe, who previously played for Portugal, had a successful career at both club and international level. When asked about his selection, Pepe stated that the acknowledgement was a major point in view of the way his career had been marked by his performance on the pitch.

To be named an EA SPORTS FC ICON means a great deal to me. I always played with intensity, passion, and complete commitment every time I stepped onto the pitch. Looking back on that journey, it’s a proud moment to see my career become part of FC’s ICON legacy.

Christine Sinclair is also joining the ICON roster as the first Canadian player to be given the designation. She pointed out Canada’s first major international title and the broader impact that this achievement had on women’s football in the country.

To be the first Canadian named an EA SPORTS FC ICON is an incredible honour. Winning Canada’s first major international title was something we had worked toward for so long, and seeing what it meant for women’s soccer back home made us incredibly proud. To have that moment become part of my ICON story, and hopefully inspire the next generation, means a lot.

The complete ICON lineup for the Class of ’27 consists of Formiga, Hege Riise, Yūki Nagasato, Raphaël Varane, Sergio Agüero, Tobin Heath, Pepe, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Ellen White and Christine Sinclair, and it is only in EA SPORTS FC 27 that Formiga, Riise, Nagasato, Heath, White and Sinclair will be featured.

The following players are returning: Zinedine Zidane, Ruud Gullit, Fernando Torres, Gianluca Zambrotta, Andrea Pirlo and Bastian Schweinsteiger, together with the former Heroes Lúcio and Yaya Touré.

EA SPORTS FC 27 will feature more than 21,000 players across over 800 clubs and national teams, along with 140 stadiums and more than 35 leagues.

If players place their order for the Ultimate Edition or the Ultimate Plus Edition by 31 August, they will be able to get an untradeable 85+ OVR International ICON Player Pack for Football Ultimate Team, the pack including one of 18 new Class of ’27 ICONs or returning legends.

The men’s ICON lineup will also be available in EA SPORTS FC Mobile.
