CODE VEIN II: Mask Of Idris Expansion Launches Next Month

Bandai Namco Entertainment has confirmed that CODE VEIN II will receive its Mask of Idris expansion on 9 September 2026, introducing a new post-game campaign set within an alternate world known as the Forsaken World.

The expansion will be available to purchase separately but is also included with the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions of CODE VEIN II. Players will need to have reached the main game’s “Luna Fraterna” ending and completed the “Valentin’s request” sub-mission before they can begin the new storyline.

Mask of Idris takes players into the Forsaken World, an environment created from the converged passions of worlds that disappeared following changes to history. At its centre is a massive swirling spindle that draws emotions from across different times and spaces, creating a threat that could affect the real world. The expansion will also introduce Liv Voda, a guardian of time and space described as having a combative personality, who players will encounter as the new conflict develops.

Alongside the paid expansion, Bandai Namco will release Free Update Version 2.0 on 9 September. The update will add new content that allows players to explore the world following the conclusion of the main game alongside their partners. Further details about the update will be announced at a later date.

Developed by Bandai Namco Studios, CODE VEIN II is an action RPG built around travelling between past and present versions of its world. Combat allows players to drain blood from enemies to access skills, combine different Blood Codes with weapons and equipment known as Jails, and battle a range of enemies and bosses.

The sequel also introduced a Partner System that allows players to switch between two different forms of combat. Character customisation is available for the Revenant Hunter protagonist, with options covering body type, hairstyles, facial expressions, accessories and makeup. Players can also use hot springs to view their character under different lighting conditions and capture images using Photo Mode.
