Battlefield 6 and Battlefield REDSEC have received their Season 3 update earlier today, bringing a new contract-based event, a smaller scale version of Obliteration mode, a casual Battle Royale option, and updated gunplay detailed in the latest Battlefield Combat series.
The update introduces the Wet Work Event, in which players can collect Contracts dropped by eliminated enemies and complete objectives during a match. These objectives include eliminations, looting Chests, capturing objectives or staying alive, and are available to players in both REDSEC and Multiplayer.
Season 3 also introduces Tactical Obliteration, a smaller scale version of the large scale Obliteration mode that launched during Blastpoint. The new mode is built around 8v8 squad based matches and is available in Verified Portal from 30 June. It is aimed at squads with experience in coordinated objective play.
A Casual Battle Royale mode has also been added to REDSEC. This version of Battle Royale includes bots to create more manageable combat encounters and smoother match flow, and is intended for players who are new to the mode, trying out different classes and loadouts, or warming up before higher stakes matches. The bots are designed to support match pacing while keeping the focus on encounters between players.
