Spike Chunsoft has released a new trailer for their upcoming release of STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT, offering a look at an additional story route created for the upcoming release. The trailer focuses on the “Gamma Worldline”, a storyline that did not appear in the original 2009 version of STEINS;GATE or any subsequent versions across media formats.
In this route, Okabe is thrown into an unfamiliar worldline after surviving a series of brutal ordeals. Unlike the world he knows, the time machine was never completed, and D-Mails, messages capable of changing the past, do not exist. Searching for answers, he returns to the lab, only to be greeted with hostility from the people who should be his closest allies.
The Gamma Worldline also explores a version of Okabe where the Hououin Kyouma persona, a key driving force in the main story, never existed. Instead, Okabe finds himself working alongside Moeka Kiryu, with the route placing its focus on loneliness, despair and a different kind of brutality for both Okabe and the reader joining him on this new route.
STEINS;GATE REBOOT is scheduled to release in North America and Europe on 29 October 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5. However, the game will arrive earlier on 20 August 2026 for Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.
