Bandai Namco Entertainment and FromSoftware are bringing Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition to Nintendo Switch 2 on 28 August 2026. The release will include the original Elden Ring experience, alongside the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion and new content created for Tarnished Edition. This includes two new Starting Classes, additional character armour and the ability to customise Torrent, the player’s Spectral Steed. The new Tarnished Edition content will also be available to purchase for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.
Originally developed by FromSoftware and Bandai Namco Entertainment, Elden Ring is an open world action RPG set in the Lands Between, a dark fantasy world created by Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R.R. Martin. Players explore its vast environments on foot or by riding Torrent, facing dangerous enemies and major challenges as they carve their own path toward becoming Elden Lord.
Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition also includes Shadow of the Erdtree, the expansion that takes players into the Realm of Shadow. This additional adventure expands on the story of the base game, introducing new mysteries, bosses, gear, abilities, weapons and armour.
