Croteam and publisher Devolver Digital have announced the upcoming release of The Talos Principle 3, which will serve as the concluding chapter of their first-person puzzle franchise. The new title is currently in development for PC and PlayStation 5, with a specific launch date yet to be confirmed.
In this third installment, players will navigate a cosmic journey that spans across more than a dozen distinct worlds. The narrative premise places players inside a reality known as the Anomaly, a setting characterized by crumbling temples and abandoned scientific outposts where the standard laws of physics do not function normally.
The core gameplay will focus on solving a series of increasingly complex puzzles as a means to recover the protagonist’s fragmented memories. Through this process, players will experience the perspective of an explorer and uncover the history of the world built by humanity, while confronting conflicting lore within the universe regarding whether the Anomaly represents Heaven or Hell.
The series originally debuted in 2014 with the launch of the first game, which was followed by The Talos Principle 2 in 2023. The second instalment expanded on the original framework by introducing larger environments, a broader variety of puzzles, and a deeper narrative focus. Most recently, the developers updated the franchise’s history by launching a reimagined version of the original game, titled The Talos Principle Reawakened, last year.
