Ubisoft has announced that a new team-oriented version of the classic board game, Monopoly: Star Wars Heroes vs. Villains, is scheduled for release on 11 June 2026. The title is being developed by Behaviour Interactive and is slated for a wide release across current generation consoles and PC.
Unlike the standard individualistic gameplay found in the original board game, this version focuses on 2v2 and 3v3 team dynamics. Players can engage in these matches through online play or local couch co-op. The character roster draws from various eras of the film series, featuring figures such as Darth Maul, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, and Luke Skywalker. These characters are equipped with specific abilities that are designed to influence a team’s strategy and the outcome of a match.
The digital board is populated with locations derived from the Star Wars universe. The gameplay incorporates mechanics such as specific events that occur when a player interacts with the “GO” space. Additionally, the developers noted that property ownership can shift rapidly throughout the game, which requires teams to adjust their tactics accordingly.
Monopoly: Star Wars Heroes vs. Villains will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, both the original Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via the Ubisoft Store, Steam, and Epic Games Store. It will also be supported on the GeForce Now streaming service.
