Nippon Ichi Software America (NIS America) has officially expanded the reach of its 2D side-scrolling adventure, The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince, by launching the title on Steam. While the game originally debuted on the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in2019, this new release marks the first time PC players can access the storybook-inspired platformer.
The narrative of The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince focuses on a wolf who accidentally blinds a prince after he is drawn to the creature’s singing voice. To rectify the accident, the wolf makes a deal with a forest witch to take on the form of a princess. Disguised in this new human shape, the wolf must lead the blind prince through a dangerous forest to find a cure for his sight.
Gameplay revolves around the mechanic of switching between the two forms. Players utilize the wolf’s brute strength to dispatch hostile creatures and overcome physical obstacles, while the princess form is required to guide the prince by the hand and solve environmental puzzles using wit. The forest is filled with hazardous traps and enemies that require careful coordination to bypass safely.
This PC version is priced at $19.99 USD. NIS America has confirmed that the game is Steam Deck playable and features full support for controllers as well as keyboard and mouse setups.
