Pantaloon has announced a new project titled BOXROOM, which focuses on the physicalisation of digital gaming collections. The software allows users to import their existing Steam libraries into a customisable virtual environment. Once the library is integrated, players can design and arrange a digital room to house their collection, effectively turning digital licenses into physicalised objects within a 3D space.
The customization tools in BOXROOM enable players to define the layout of their virtual space and furnish it with desks, shelving units, and specific lighting configurations. Beyond simple storage, the application encourages users to curate their libraries in an aesthetically pleasing manner. Players can interact with the items on their virtual shelves by picking up individual games to inspect them before launching the software directly from the virtual interface.
While a specific release date has not been confirmed, BOXROOM is expected to launch into Early Access in the near future. However, a demo of the software has been made available to download on Steam as part of the ongoing House & Home Fest.
