Bandai Namco Entertainment and developer Media Vision Inc. have announced that their monster-taming RPG, Digimon Story Time Stranger, is coming to Nintendo platforms this year. Following a release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC last year, the title is scheduled to launch on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on 10 July 2026.
Digimon Story Time Stranger casts players as an agent of ADAMAS who must navigate a crisis threatening the stability of both the human and digital worlds. The core gameplay involves collecting, taming, and battling with over 450 different Digimon in a strategic turn-based combat system. The narrative also incorporates elements of time travel alongside traversal between the two worlds.
Users on the new console can select a Quality Mode, which targets 4K HDR at up to 30FPS while docked and Full HD at up to 30FPS in handheld mode. Alternatively, a Performance Mode is available, targeting Full HD at up to 60FPS for both docked and handheld play.
Bandai Namco has outlined three digital editions available for pre-order:
- Standard Edition: Includes the base game.
- Digital Deluxe Edition: Includes the base game, “Cyber Sleuth Set” costumes, and the Season Pass.
- Digital Ultimate Edition: Includes all Digital Deluxe content, a Costume Pack (featuring three costumes per character and three additional side missions), early unlocks for special Agumon and Gabumon with unlocked Digivolution conditions, Public Safety Suit costumes, a Special Supplies Set, and a Cyber Sleuth BGM Pack.

The Season Pass will grant access to three DLC packs released in the months following launch. Each pack contains five additional Digimon and one extra story episode. Season Pass holders also receive a Golden Moai farm item for the Digifarm.
