With Nintendo now well into its newest generation of Switch console, Bethesda Game Studios has determined that now is the best time to release Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition for the Nintendo Switch 2. This release marks the first time a mainline entry in the Fallout franchise has been made available on a Nintendo platform, allowing users to play the title in both docked and handheld modes. The launch coincides with the ten year anniversary of the game, returning players to the post-nuclear setting of Boston and the Commonwealth.
As is typical with these special editions of Bethesda titles, players who purchase this edition will receive the full base game alongside its six official downloadable content expansions. The included add-ons are Automatron, Wasteland Workshop, Contraptions Workshop, Far Harbor, Vault-Tec Workshop, and Nuka-World.
Furthermore, the package features over 150 pieces of Creation Club content. This supplementary material provides players with a variety of weapons, quests, companions, cosmetic items, and settlement building options, encompassing both existing and previously unreleased additions.
At the moment only the digital release of Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition for the Nintendo Switch 2 is available. A physical edition, albeit one featuring a code-in-box rather than a game cartridge, will be available on 28 April 2026.
