After releasing the game on consoles a fair few years back, Nippon Ichi Software America has confirmed that their 2D side-scrolling adventure game, The Liar Princess and the Blind Price, is finally headed to the PC. While a specific release date remains unconfirmed, the game is scheduled to arrive on the Steam storefront early this year. The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince originally launched globally on 12 February 2019, where it was previously restricted to the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 consoles.
The narrative of The Liar Prince and the Blind Prince follows a wolf and a prince who are brought together by an unfortunate accident in which the wolf causes the prince to lose his sight. To make amends, the wolf disguises itself as a princess to guide the blind prince through a treacherous forest. Their goal is to locate a witch who possesses the magic required to restore the prince’s vision. The game features a visual style resembling a sketched storybook.

From a gameplay perspective, players must navigate a forest filled with hostile creatures and environmental hazards. Success relies on utilizing the specific abilities of the protagonist’s two forms. Players can transform into the wolf to utilize brute strength against enemies, or revert to the princess form to solve puzzles and carefully lead the prince past traps.
In addition to the main objective, the game includes a collection element. Players can find delicate petals scattered throughout the levels. Collecting these items unlocks fragments of memories shared between the characters, providing further context to the backstory of the tragedy, love, and loss central to the plot.
