KOMODO has confirmed that NIUHI, its manga platform, will arrive on the iPhone App Store in the United States and Japan on 1 December 2025, following a year of beta service on desktop. The app is positioned to connect readers and creators through discovery tools, community features, and translations, with several series making their English debut on NIUHI.
To coincide with launch day, Episode 3 of the original sci fi action manga MOON CIDERS will be released and available to read for free. At launch, NIUHI highlights a set of features focused on reading, profiles, and community:
- Manga and comics from multiple regions, including Japan, the United States, and Hong Kong, with indie and commercial works added on a regular basis.
- Creator Profile Pages, giving artists a customised space with profile photo, cover image, optional country flags, and social links to help connect with fans.
- User Profile Pages with a Favorite Shelf that showcases up to six purchased titles, along with visibility into what other users are reading to aid discovery.
- Profile Customisation through NIUHI Rewards, which unlocks avatars by completing reading milestones starting at five and ten finished books. Avatars feature characters from What the Muck: the end of the world, MOON CIDERS, and NIUHI originals. Accounts created between 1 December and 31 December will receive a bonus avatar.
- Community Translations, enabling fans to help translate works using built in tools to broaden accessibility.
KOMODO notes that a Google Play version for Android is planned for a future date.
